Abstract (EN)

The aim of this was to investigate the effects of different post-activation potential practices on vertical jump and agility performance in young women volleyball players. Twelve healthy women athletes aged between 16-18 years volunteered to participate the study. The study was designed according to a randomized cross-over experimental design. The athletes were randomly divided into three treatments groups as squat treatments, volleyball-specific treatments, and control treatments. Participants were performed vertical jump and agility tests following the exercises according the treatments groups. Following the 48 hour interval between the treatments all groups were switched and the tests were repeated. One-way repeated measures ANOVA was used to investigate the differences between treatments groups. According to the one-way repeated measures ANOVA, no statistically significant differences were found in the treatments effect on vertical jump values (F(2,22)= 0.012; p= 0.988) and agility values (F(2,22)= 0.438; p= 0.651) (p>0.05). As a conclusion, it was observed that different potentiation practices performed during the warm-up process had no effect on vertical jump and agility performance. However, it was seen that the vertical jump performance was better after squat treatments compared to other treatments.
