Abstract (EN)

The objective of this study is reviewing the impact on life satisfaction of such work-family and family-work conflicts experienced by the employees. Further to the foregoing, it is further aimed to study whether or not the impact on life satisfaction of such work-family and family-work conflicts exhibit variations according to demographic characteristics. The sampling group of the study conducted comprises of 537 employees in total, working under Central Organization of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, including it is affiliated entity Sports General Directorate, consisting of 57% (306 individuals) male, 43% (231 individuals) female employees. Interviews and inquiries used as a means of data collection are implemented on and to the sampling group through (Random) sampling method. The first section of the inquiry consist of questions prepared with the objective of specifying the demographic characteristics of the employees, the second and third sections consist of questions for determining whether or not the employees experience any work-family, family- work conflicts, whereas in the final section with the purpose of determining the life satisfaction levels of the participants. In analyzing the data, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) and Kruskal-Wallis methods are used, as a result of such method, in order to set forth the source of difference found to be significant, LSD (Least Significant Difference) and Mann-Whitney U multiple comparison tests are implemented. To derive the relationship between the variables, Pearson Correlation Coefficient is calculated. According to the findings, substantially significant correlation in the positive sense is found between work-family conflict and family-work conflict (p=0;000). In other words, in parallel to an increasing work-family conflict, family-work conflict is exhibiting a similar increase trend. Whereas between work-family conflict and life satisfaction, a very substantially significant level of correlation is found in the negative sense (p=0;000). Any increase in work-family conflict is giving rise to a decrease in life satisfaction. Whereas any increase in life satisfaction is causing a reduction in work-family conflict. Between family-work conflict and life satisfaction, substantially significant correlation is found in the negative sense (p=0;000). Any increase in family-work conflict is giving rise to a reduction in life satisfaction. While any increase in life satisfaction is giving rise to a decrease in life satisfaction. As a result, the Ministry of Youth and Sports participating in our research, affiliate Sports General Administration employees, on average, a moderate experienced work-family conflict, family-work conflict than their low-level and medium-level were found to have levels of life satisfaction.
