Abstract (EN)

The overall objective of this dissertation is to determine consumers? awareness of genetically modified products, the level of knowledge and intentions of the consumers living in Eskişehir and to reveal attitudes factors that affect their purchasing behaviors. As The conceptual framework of the research was drawn in the introduction section of the thesis, in the second chapter, the literature review is conducted to determine the theoretical framework of the study. In the third chapter the method of this research is described. By using ?Descriptive Research Model? for the purposes of the study and developing a research model, research hypotheses are developed. Through a questionnaire which is served as a means of collecting data, 1250 people, determined by quota sampling were interviewed face to face from universe of Eskişehir. Under the title of ?the findings and results? in the fourth chapter of the study data analysis and correlation analysis are explained and interpreted. The results of the research hypotheses and proposals are described in the fifth chapter. Even the majority of the respondents are stated that they have information on the subject, in terms of awareness, it is determined by the asnwers given to level of knowledge questions that they still not enough information. In the case of the sale of GM products vast majority of participants exhibited a negative attitude on purchase intention.
