Abstract (EN)

Maintaining desired filght conditions in flight envelope for a long period is theprimary control problem in aircraft flight control. Due to internal and externaldisturbances, dynamic behaviour of aircraft may change in a short period of time. Thus a control system designed for a flight condition, may not provide the desiredstability and performance characteristics in case of deviation from the equilibriumpoint. There are numerous studies regarding flight control in the literature. Fuzzylogic controllers (FLCs) from their inception have demonstrated a vast range ofapplicability to processes where the plant transfer function is not defined but thecontrol action can be described in terms of linguistic variables. FLC's are alsobeing used with improved performance instead of ?classical" controllers wherethe plant transfer function is known. Genetic algorithms is a method used foroptimization of fuzzy systems. Most of the applications about the design of fuzzyflight control are in simulation level. In this study, the design of genetic fuzzy PDcontroller for the altitude control system is analyzed and the results for a verylarge, four-engine passenger jet aircraft are evaluated and compared with theresult of classsical PD controller. Keywords: Fuzzy Logic, Genetic Algorithms, Fuzzy Control, Design of FlightControl System, Genetic Fuzzy Controller
