Abstract (EN)
Minimization and recycling of wastes in the textile industry is an issue that has been emphasized in recent years. Recycling of pre-consumer and postconsumer wastes has begun to be widely preferred in order to obtain the cotton plant, which is a fiber type in the textile and ready-made clothing sector. In this study, it is planned to investigate the compatibility of fabrics made from recycled raw materials with sustainable methods in clothing designs in terms of fabric performance properties. Properties such as density, weight, thickness, air permeability, fabric stiffness and drying behaviour of recycled cotton blended single jersey knitted fabrics were determined according to the standards and according to the results obtained, it was evaluated to what extent the recycling rate affected these properties. Keywords: Sustainability, recycled cotton, air permeability, fabric stiffness
