Moderation effects of entrepreneurial self-efficacy in relation between entrepreneurial alertness and entrepreneurial commitment

Entrepreneurship has been a driving force for the economy of countries, especially developing countries. Today, there are many studies in the field of entrepreneurship. While some of the research is on startups, most research is on entrepreneurs. When the studies on entrepreneurs are examined, the personality and motivation factors of entrepreneurship and the state of entrepreneurship areas are in the interest of many researchers. The concepts of entrepreneurial self-efficacy, entrepreneurial alertness, and entrepreneurial commitment are areas that need further research. In this study, the relationship between entrepreneurial alertness and entrepreneurial commitment was investigated and the moderator effect of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on this relationship was evaluated. 229 entrepreneurs who have an account in StartupMarket, StartupWatch, and StartupCentrum and who have a startup in one of the 22 selected Techno parks in Turkey were included in the research. Demographic Information Form, General Self-efficacy Scale, Entrepreneurial Alertness Scale, and Entrepreneurial Commitment Scale were administered to the participants. According to the findings obtained from the research, entrepreneurial alertness has a positive effect on entrepreneurial commitment, but self-efficacy has no moderator role.
