Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to reveal the effects of migrations to the city of Diyarbakır on the city. In the study, the first part, which includes the concepts of migration and the city, and the second part, which examines the effects of migration on cities and migration to cities in Turkey, are discussed based on the literature review. In the last part, the effects of migrations to Diyarbakır province on the city were tried to be analyzed through the data obtained by the structured interview technique. In this context, in the interviews conducted with 13 participants (11 men, 2 woman) in the research, a total of 24 questions were asked to each participant, 6 of which were demographic and 18 were aimed at measuring the effects of migration on the economic, political, socio-cultural and local public services in Diyarbakır. The 13 interviews were first coded and then analyzed using the MAXQDA Analytics Pro 2022 qualitative data analysis program. As a result of the analysis, it was revealed that migration caused a negative perception in the city, especially in terms of economic dimension. However, it has been stated that there are also negativities in terms of political, socio-cultural, local public services and urban security. It has been understood that the emphasis on the positive aspects of migration is very low.
