Abstract (EN)
This study aims to determine the amount of heavy metal contamination in Gökçekaya Dam reservoir, Sakarya River by determining the seasonal heavy metal (Cd, Pb, Cr, Co, Ni, Zn, Cu, Fe, As) concentration of the surface sediment. Average heavy metal content in annual amount of concentration mostly varied as Fe>Zn>Cr>Ni>Cu>Pb>Co>As>Cd. Evaluation of the heavy metal analysis on surface sediment according to Soil Pollution Control Regulations in Turkey (TKKY, 2005) showed that As, Cr and Ni content was above the limit and Co, Cd, Zn, Cu and Pb content was below the limit. As a result of analysis and statistical studies; according to Sediment Quality Index (SGQ), Gökçekaya Dam reservoir is classified as anthropogenically
