Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, experiments which aimed to determine the raw material features and the field of use of the samples from four different field that were chosen from Manisa-Gördes area were carried out. First of all, 50-100kg samples were taken by visiting the zeolite field and the sample coordinates were determined by a GPS. Samples were subjected to the sieve analyses after crushing and grinding processes and crushing and grinding grain sizes were recorded. The sieve analyses were carried out with sieve apertures of, 9.51, 4.75, 3.35, 2, 1, 0.85, 0.5, 0.4, 0.3, 0.2, 0.1 and 0.075mm. Samples were grinded for 15, 30, 45, 60 and 75 minutes in a ball mill. Chemical analyses were carried out for the samples which have a grain size less than 100 micron. As for the chemical analyses, percentage silisium oxide , aluminum oxide, iron oxide, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, sodium oxide ,potasium oxide and ignition loss were determined, for all the samples but especially for the feed, in sieve apertures of 4,75 ; 3,35 ; 2 ; 1 ; 0,85 ; 0,5 ; 0,4 ; 0,3 ; 0,2 ; 0,1 ; 0,075 mm. Mineral content percentage and dispersion percentage tables and graphics according to raw material grain coarseness are drawn and interpreted. X-Ray and microscope analyses are carried out and minerals contained are determined. Then the Cation Exchange Capacity and the exchangeable cations of the zeolites. By taking the high adsorption capacity and the convenience of the structural features of the zeolites into the account, the experiments that aimed to research to create a field of use in oil adsorption were carried out in the neutral sunflower oil with the 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5gr zeolite samples that have grain size less then 100 micron. Then the adsorption of the both zeolite samples that have grain size less then 100 micron, which were processed with 5M acid and not, was observed with the BET method by using azot gas. All experiments were conducted on zeolite samples A, B, C and D taken from 4 different zeolite areas.
