Abstract (EN)

The GPS-based two-axis solar tracking system will work autonomously without any setting in the world with the solar angle formulas and GPS support used. According to other closed system solar tracking mechanisms, it can perform tracking whether or not sun, as well as providing high accuracy with GPS and solar angle formulas, the efficiency will be maximum according to these tracking systems. The system performs the solar tracking according to the solar angle formulas calculated with the help of real time and date data obtained from the GPS module. During this follow-up of the system, a total of two encoders, one for each axis, are used as feedback to ensure that solar tracking is performed more steadily. During the operation of the 2-axis solar tracking system, the ambient parameters (radiation, humidity, ambient temperature, water inlet temperature, water outlet temperature) were measured by sensors and the correlation between the yield values obtained from the system and these ambient parameters were examined. The relations were interpreted with the help of graphs. In addition, the accuracy of the system was calculated by comparing the encoder values measured in the system with the solar angle formulas calculated. The system requires two reference points (east, west, up, down) in total for each axis. The system sees this point as the starting point by turning itself to the east during initial start-up or reset with the help of these reference points. After determining the starting point, the system operates in four minute periods and the stability of the system is controlled by encoders connected to the axes. The system generally consists of a concentrating bowl and a heating tube. The concentrator collects the sun rays coming on the system and focuses it on the heating tube. The heating tube concentrates over the dish and heats the water circulating in it with the help of the sun rays. The 2-axis solar tracking system measures the irradiation values and records them to the datalogger in one minute periods by means of a solar radiation sensor fixed on the collector during the sun tracking. In the same way, the water inlet and outlet temperatures on the system are measured in one minute intervals by means of thermocouples connected to the heater. Finally, the temperature and humidity values of the environment are measured in one minute intervals and recorded in the datalogger.
