Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, qualified and reliable energy demand has been increased with the development of technology. Therefore electrical energy should be forwarded to consumer within certain limits values such as constant voltage and frequency. This situation reveals stability problem in electrical power systems. The production of electric energy is supplied by synchronous generators for the demand of the consumer. Since electrical power systems have an interconnect structure, all generators are expected to remain synchronism in the system. If a little or high disturbances occur in the system, angular speed and rotor angels of synchronous generators start to oscillate. Automatic voltage regulator and power system stabilizer controllers are used to provide damping oscillations arising from distortions in power systems. A number research has been performed to use these controllers efficiently. In this study, parameters of PID controller were optimized using genetic algorithm (GA) within certain limits under different conditions in single machine infinite bus a power system. Performance of GAPID controller was compared with conventional power system stabilizer (CPSS), PID controller, fuzzy logic (FL) controller and parameters of power system stabilizer (PSS) was optimized using GA in simulation study. The better performance was obtained with GAPID controller under small disturbance conditions.
