Abstract (EN)
In this study, heavy metal levels like Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb ve Zn are determined In the water and sediment samples with Cystoseira barbata from brown algae, Patella caerulae from invertebrates and Mu&t auratus from fishes samples were taken from designated stations along the coast of the Aegean Sea which take place between Gümüldör - Seferihisar Region. These samples were used concerning the build up of toxic accumulation of some heavy metals concentrations (Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn) and the variations according to their origin of the stations. These samples, since they are the bioindicator of the heavy metals are used to btomonitor heavy metal pollution. The research was carried out between July 2002 - May 2003 and samples that had various charecteristics were collected from five diffrent stations by monthly collections. According to analysis results that were made in ICP - AES, in the water samples Cd 0,0024 - 0,0031 ppm; Cu 0,0048 - 0,0095 ppm; Fe 0,077 - 0,105 ppm; Mn 0,0061 - 0,056 ppm; Ni 0,0061 - 0,0144 ppm; Pb 0,034 - 0,054; Zn 0,038 - 0,05 ppm, In the sediment samples; Cd 0,72 - 1,93 ppm; Cu 14,2 - 22,8 ppm; Fe 12302 - 36298 ppm; Mn 312 - 673 ppm; Ni 43,9 - 226,2 ppm; Pb 17,9 - 58,7ppm; Zn 47,3 - 240,7 ppm, In the samples of Cystoseira barbata; Cd 2,71 - 3,79 ppm (dry weight); Cu 1,89 - 2,89 ppm; Fe 1784 - 3881 ppm; Mn 50 - 243 ppm; Ni 8,4 - 15,1 ppm; Pb 17,9 - 31,2 ppm; Zn 118 - 162 ppm, In the samples of Patella caerulae; Cd 0,086 - 0,179 ppm; Cu 0,203 - 0,250 ppm; Fe 139,3 - 209,3 ppm; Mn 0,65 - 1,22 ppm; Ni 0,52 - 0,67 ppm; Pb 0,273 - 0,322 ppm; Zn 3,67 - 4,35 ppm, In the samples of MugH auratus; Cd 0,0043 - 0,0087 ppm; Cu 0,107 - 0,122 ppm; Fe 75,4 - 129 ppm; Mn 0,484 - 0,603 ppm; nikel 0,044 - 0,103 ppm; Pb 0,038 - 0,046 ppm; Zn 1,008 - 1,105 ppm (wet weight) have been found. According to analysis results, in water the heavy metal levels increased in the order; Fe > Ni > Cu > Mn > Pb > Zn > Cd, in sediment; Fe > Mn > Zn > Ni > Pb > Cu > Cd, in Cystoseira barbata; Fe > Mn > Zn > Pb > Ni > Cd > Cu, in Patella caerulea; Fe > Zn > Mn > Ni > Pb > Cu > Cd, in MugH auratus; Fe > Zn > Mn > Cu > Ni > Pb > Cd. Heavy metal values of the above mentioned samples have shown difference in species according to the stations and on monthy bases. The importance of difference between stations was investigated with one - way ANOVA, two - way ANOVA. According to analysis results; it was found out that, in the water samples, manganese and nickel; in the sediment sediment Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb ve Zn; in the samples of Cystoseira barbata Mn ve Fe; in the samples of PateKa caerulea Mn ve Cd make a great difference between stations and months. Especially Mn value in water, sediment, algae, invertebrate and fish samples have shown significant difference (P < 0,05). In the sediment samples Cd, Mn, Ni, in the PateKa caerulea samples Mn ve Cd, in the Cystoseira barbata samples Fe were anatysied with two way ANOVA and it shows monthly chances. Since the real sources of these changes aren' t examined, no comment is done on the possible reasons. These obtained values were compared with the other tolerable values provided by the international institutions and thus it has been determined that the surfaces of the build up metals were harmlees and low.
