Abstract (EN)

Abstract: This study aim to examine ornamental and ornamental elements, which have be came a debated field in modern art, started intensive lyusing in the post-modern contemporary art applications in terms of conceptand construct. Inline with this purpose, ornamental and ornamental elements have been handled on the basis of different concepts such as popular culture emerging after modern, eclecticism, pluralism, gender, identity, body, and in the application methods of artists ,it was tried to examine how the artists have transformed the ornamental and ornamental elementst hat they have considered as cultural values in to concepts and construct. The data examined in the study were obtained by interview and literaturereview method. In order to contribute tothesense-makingprocess of the obtained source sand images in terms of conceptand construct, out standing artist sand works of today are researched by document analysis method. The in vestigationtriedtobe given the meaning and analyzed conceptually by considering philosophical, sociological, aesthetic and technicalaspects. As a result, it has seen that the new sense of ornament ation which has been used more frequently in contemporary art practices after the modern period, has been transformed in to varied artist icproducts by diverse artists in a different way with in the contemporary art practices. The necessity of this transformation's association with object and space, it invites the viewer to produce concepts and in consequence of meaning.
