Macro-micro approaches in contemporary art and the phenomenon of belonging

While contemporary art exists with its new and less regular and free dynamics, it contains many approaches. The notion of art and artists have become even more liberated with contemporary art. The individual freedom of the artist plays an important role in the artist's sense of belonging. The artist, who creates a strong sense of belonging with art, makes use of many macro-micro-scale approaches and benefits the art she feels belonging to. In contemporary art, micro-scale daily life objects are frequently encountered with the macro effects they create by transforming them into works of art. This situation also manifests itself in questioning styles. While the artists criticize the problematic global problems on a macro scale with their art, they create macro-scale effects by bringing them together with the micro-scale audience with a simple language on a micro scale. Thus, while contemporary art leaves a macro effect on society, it brings together all micro (artist, artwork, audience) within itself. In this thesis named "Macro-micro approaches in contemporary art and the phenomenon of belonging", the notion of belonging is questioned by addressing the macro micro-scale situations in the production styles and notional approaches of contemporary art. The notion of belonging manifests itself in many areas of life. In the thesis, while these areas are examined, the relationship between belonging and art is examined. Notional approaches are made by making applications regarding the forms of belonging.
