Abstract (EN)

Renewable energy sources such as solar energy have great potential to mitigate some of the negative environmental problems, including climate change, caused by intensive fossil fuel use. Rapid technological development capacity and low cost is characterized by solar energy, it is important to keep a place in future energy systems. Accordingly, one of the most suitable methods used to optimize solar radiation intensity over a wide range is the genetic algorithm. In these algorithms, potential solutions to a specified problem are encoded as simple sequences in a data structure based on binary or non-binary systems, and some operations are applied to these sequences. In this study, three different coefficients were calculated for the province of Adana using the genetic algorithm and new models were developed. The obtained models, has been compared in calculating the solar radiation intensity of Adana with different statistical evaluations in the literature. As a result of the modeling made here, it has been observed that the tournament method gives more reliable results in the calculation of Angstrom coefficients for Adana by using methods such as tournament, roulette wheel. Key Words: Solar energy, Genetic algorithm, Solar radiation intensity, Binary systems, Tournament, Roulette Wheel
