Abstract (EN)
Relationship of the painting art with the photograph started with the invention of camera obscura which is known as primitive image capture tool. The first camera was invented in 1839 and landscapes were taken those years because long time poses were needed. Then, many photograph workrooms were opened and an interest rose on photograph especially passport photograph. Therefore painters who worked devotedly to the nature started to find other subjects in stead of portrait. They widened their work fields and uncovered their interpretation skills. Photograph has big influence on this situation because thanks to photograph, painting recovered from description function and found a climate which it could think more freely. Photograph has been a help tool for the artist since then. When the photographers started to do art, finding the development process of the painting was both an advantage and disadvantage. Photograph?s imitating the characteristics of the painting art delayed catching its own identity and accepting itself as an art. Meanwhile their being fed from the painting language accelerated development process of the photograph.Looking at the use of the photograph in the art, photograph finds its place in a different place where mixed applications come forward especially in the modernist period. In postmodernism, which emphasizes the importance of the inter-disciplines, use of the photograph in the art has been varying and moving to the different dimensions.
