Abstract (EN)

This study investigates the common writing errors for Georgian students learning Turkish as a foreign language. The study was conducted at Batumi Şota Rustaveli state university in Georgia, faculty of Turkish Studies for the academic year of 2016-2017 with participation of forty five students who are in their intermediate level. The research confirmed that Georgian students tend to have tremendous mistakes in writing skills; the study also provides genuine solutions to overcome the obstacles. The thesis contains four main chapters: introduction, research methods (problem statement, research purpose and objective), data analysis and data collection methods. Apart from that the basic concepts of the study have been discussed in the first chapter, while findings and comments are in the second chapter, the third one refers to research approaches, the last chapter is conclusion. During the study, personal information form and grading scale were used as a measurement tool. The data of the study was collected through questionnaire distributed to a target group. In addition, each student in the target group was asked to write 150-200-word informative passage and a composition. The study is qualitative in method, nevertheless the data was obtained through using various techniques to achieve remarkable findings, for instance the tables and graphs in the study were drown by using the Microsoft office programs (word and excel). key words: Writing skill, Language teaching, Teaching Turkish with foreigners
