Abstract (EN)

The goal of this thesis is to develop a simulation model intended to the techno-economic and environmental optimization of photovoltaic power plant in the region of Gürsu Bursa. Usage of simülation software is significant to spend less time and save appropriations for investor of renewable energy. In this study, mathematical model has been developed by considering economical, technical, and environmental issues. In addition to that radiation on the inclined panel, PV panel efficiency, the power output of the plant, annual earnings, the amount of inhibited carbon emission, and the duration of amortization are calculated with the help of this simulation software. The results which are obtained from the developed simulation software are verified by comparing RetScreen simulation results used widely on the trading market. % 1.8 of decrease is determined in the amount of carbon emission and power generation; On the other hand, % 2.7 of decrease is determined in the duration of amortization. Effective parameters are determined by using the sensitivity analysis that are performed with the improved simulation. Moreover different scenarios are formed where the inclination angle, the type of PV and the amount of production are changed. The duration of amortization has been figured out for each scenario considering the case of being encouraged or not. As a result, the usage of Polycrystalline type panels with an inclination angle of 25° is determined as the optimum solution when the production rate is % 80 more than power demand, in the presence of governmental incentives for carbon emission and the usage of local PV models. Although amortization period is 10,4 years for Gürsu Bursa solar power plant at current situation, it was as 6,7 years for the developed simulation and 5,9 years for RetScreen simulation.
