Abstract (EN)

Quick developments in the science and technology gives direction to our life. It has to be competitive to stand still and make profit in the environment that productive innovations are non-stop. Consumer or user has to keep in step with the situation to live in better conditions and sign on better works. Besides, products are evaluated according to their quality. No doubt, one of the most important quality is reliability of the product. So, firstly reliability will be handled with the important concepts like hazard function and bathtub curve in this study. Then, univariate distributions, bivariate distributions, mixture distributions, mixed distributions and compound distributions that are used in the reliability analysis which lighten the products? lifetime. Main properties and parameter estimators related to these statistical distribution models which are commonly used will be searched. Reliability will be handled again with the load and stength concepts and examplified with various distributions. Also, it isn?t forgotten that we live in computer age and it is given a place to statistical distributions that are used in software reliability. Key words: Reliability, Statistical distribution models, Hardware and Software reliability.
