Abstract (EN)

We can appraise the Court Registers as the documents that expose the social structure of our community. These registers consist of important information about the social, cultural, legal status, community structure and the extent of moral of the community of the period in which they are registered. They are very essential archives to enlighten our history; especially in our period in which the social, cultural and financial history studies has become important. Our history will be enlightened more easily as such these documents are revealed.By making use of Court Registers, we can make generalizations and stabilizations about the city construction of Ottoman Empire. With this study, by taking the Manisa Court Registers numbered 124 into account, I intended to expose the social and economic situation of thecity of Manisa between the years 1665 and 1666. It was understood that the documents were mostly about inheritance, determination of the trustee and trials such as sale and obligee trials. In this respect I tried to explain the social and economic situation of the city of Manisa. However, the information gathered is limited to the trials and the records in Manisa Court Registers numbered 124 with the date 1665?1666, which is the main source of the study.
