Abstract (EN)

Hacı Bayram Mosque was built in the Ulus district of Ankara in the 14th and 15th centuries in the name of Hacı Bayram-ı Velî. The mosque and tomb are located right next to the Ogüst-Augustus (Monumentum Anciranium) temple, which gave the square its name. The construction of the temple and the mosque side by side reveals the unifying thoughts of Hacı Bayram-ı Velî together with the tolerance of the Turkish people. The construction of the Hacı Bayram Mosque was carried out in 831 H. (1427/28) two years before the death of Hacı Bayram-ı Velî. One of the mosque decorations, hüsn-i calligraphy (beautiful writing) is defined as calligraphy in a foreign language, and this name is also given to the beautiful writing written in Latin letters. In this study; eight outdoor spaces and the men's section of the Hacı Bayram Mosque today eighteen interior calligraphic decorations at the entrance of the section were examined. Decorations are generally found on doors and windows. The upper floor of the men's section and the calligraphies in the women's section follow each other in the form of long plates. The verses, which include very rich writing examples, some parts of esma-ül hüsna and prayer texts are available. In order for these ornaments to gain value today, Arabic reading and Turkish meanings are also given. The decorations in the men's and women's sections of the mosque was found that it was written in different ways. The decorations in the men's section are celî thuluth and the decorations in the women's section are written in kûfi font. The decorations inside the Hacı Bayram Mosque are very valuable in terms of letter bodies and design. In the research, information was given about which texts were written with which type of writing and how the texts were protected in the texts used in the mosque. At the same time, information such as writing techniques and pen sizes were given, and the formal features of the articles were emphasized from different angles. In this research we have done, the writings in their present form were examined and evaluated in terms of calligraphy. Information was given about the post-restoration status of the decorations.
