Abstract (EN)
Islam has given great importance to the institution of family as it is the cornerstone of society and nation. The most basic building blocks of this very important institution are men and women. Islam has given importance to men and women separately and has imposed different duties and responsibilities on both parties; it has also granted them some rights through the marriage contract made during the formation of this institution. In order for this institution to be built on solid foundations and to ensure its sustainability, both parties must be aware of their obligations and duties and fulfil them effectively. It is of vital importance that the parties respect mutual rights and are aware of their own rights. Men and women are physically and mentally different from each other. Islam has demonstrated justice by giving men and women their duties and responsibilities within their powers, taking into account these differences. In terms of rights, it has made them equal; if it has given a different right to one than the other, it has explained its reason and purpose through the Qur'an and the Prophet (s.av.) and has not made any discrimination. Although misleading arguments are put forward under the name of feminism in today's world, the balance revealed by Islam contributes to the peace and happiness of spouses and family members. Today, many studies have been and are being conducted on women and their rights and laws. However, in parallel to this, the lack of studies in which the importance, responsibilities and rights of the man, another member of the family, in the family are mentioned is a matter that cannot be overlooked. In this study, we will endeavour to reveal the place and importance of men in the family in the light of hadiths, their duties, rights and responsibilities as a father in the education and upbringing of the child, in the rules and order of the house and as a husband.
