Abstract (EN)

Regardless of age or time, every human being has an innate need to socialize. Therefore, people need friends to share their emotions, experiences, and memories. Islam, which encompasses every aspect of human life, also places significant emphasis on friendship. With the rise of virtual platforms and the concept of "virtual friendship," the friendships formed today often lack solid foundations. Friendships based on interests and lacking trust cannot withstand difficulties and tend to break down quickly. In this context, the teachings of Islam regarding friendship and companionship provide important guidance that sheds light on modern understandings of friendship. The importance of friendship is frequently emphasized in the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.v), and the responsibilities, mutual support, and solidarity between friends are encouraged. These values advise people to form friendships based on moral principles rather than worldly interests. This research aims to explore the values of friendship and companionship within the framework of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.v) and to provide detailed insights into the qualities that should be present in a friend, based on hadiths.
