Hami who lived between 1679 and 1747 is from Diyarbakir and his real name is Ahmed. He took lessons from Sir Dervish Agah and he became clerkship of Abdullah Pasha?s divan. He joined the conquest of Tabriz with his Pasha and also he wrote a long ode that is about this conquest. His divan is the only work of him that can be determined in all resources. There are 106 poems in this divan. The range of these poems is like that: 7 odes ( %7), 2 masnavis ( %2), 65 ghazals (%61), 22 quatrains (%21), 2 rubais and 7 mufreds (%8). The mostly used prosody pattern in his divan is ?Mef?lü F?il?tü Mef??lü F?ilün? . This pattern was used 24 times. He was influenced by Nabi, Nef?i and Nedim who were significant poets at that time. His poems are dominated by the effects of regionalisation movement and philosophical manner.Consequently, Hami used provebs and idioms successfully in his poems by using a plain language even though he could not be such a famous poet like his contemporaries or Nabi, Nef?i and Nedim who influenced him potently.
