Abstract (EN)

In this study; effects of growth place, style and structure of land and tree age of Oriental spruce (Picea orientalis (L.) Link.) used as as raw material on the physical, mechanical and surface properties and formaldehyde emission of particleboard were investigated. While increasing the tree age, mechanical properties and formaldehyde emission affected positively. Thickness increasing ratio and surface properties were affected negatively. The particleboards produced from trees harvested from south aspect have lower thickness increasing ratio and roughness value than harvested from north aspect. The particleboards produced from trees harvested from north aspect have lower formaldehyde emission and mechanical strength properties than harvested from south aspect. Formaldehyde emission and mechanical strength values of the particleboard increased with increasing altitude. While decreasing the altitude, roughness values and thickness increasing ratio of the particleboard increased. The particleboard produced from trees grow on stony land have lower thickness increasing ratio and formaldehyde emission and mechanical strength properties than trees grow soil land but not roughness values. The particleboard produced from planted trees have lower thickness increasing ratio and roughness values than native trees while mechanical strength properties and formaldehyde emission were high.
