Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the factors that influence household financial asset preferences in the context of digitalization. The concept of digitalization, approached through the dimensions of access, usage, and outcomes of the digital divide, enables a comprehensive examination of its mechanism of influence from three distinct perspectives. In this context, the study first analyzes the relationship between digital technology ownership and financial asset preferences. Subsequently, the relationship between digital literacy and financial asset usage preferences was examined. Finally, factors influencing participation in crowdfunding, which incorporates digitalization, were investigated. These dimensions not only broaden the analytical scope of the research but also enhance its policy relevance. To address the three main research questions, three separate analyses were performed using logit models and data obtained from TurkStat and the Presidency Finance Office. The findings suggest that digital technologies and digital capabilities significantly influence households' financial asset allocation decisions. Overall, socioeconomic factors such as education level, age, and household size emerge as significant determinants of financial asset preferences.
