The goal of our thesis is to analyse Aşık Hanifi Ünver's works, personal life and literary life. This search is based on written source. Aşık Hanifi Ünver's musical albums and his own works. Furthermore Aşık Hanifi Ünver is interviewed.Tradion of Minstrelsy is a elder heritage lasted from old regimes to present day. The leading agents of this custom to be termed with names like shaman, cam, baksi and bards are named as Aşık after accepting Islams as religion. Aşık Hanifi Ünver is a represantative of this custom today.Aşık Hanifi Ünver writes individual and social poems. When he mirrors his own troubles, frustrations , expectations, struggle of life, love and sorrow on his poems, on the other hand he expresses worries and hopes of community which he lives in.We analyse process of being Aşık Hanifi Ünver with titles : dream motif, a master-apprentice relationship and taking a appellation ( pseudonym). So we define the place of Aşık Hanifi Ünver in the tradion of Minstrelsy. Furthermore we write his own ideas about this custom. We try to reflect Aşık Hanifi Ünvers?s opinions about Aşık Veysel who is the most famous blind bard and followed by Aşık Hanifi Ünver since he is also a blind man.We try to determine the appropriateness of his poems in this traditional style by analysing them in terms of syllabic poems, rhyme structures, poetic forms and literary genres. We explore his mastery of language while examining the properties of language in his poems and effects of his local uses and the proverb-poem phrases to them. Moreover we show examples which reflect figures of speech and narrative techniques used by aşık hanifi ünver. We discuss the basic elements of his poems like love, national feelings, religion-mysticisim, nature and foreign land.One hundred nine classification of syllabic poetry belonging Aşık Hanifi Ünver take place in this inquiry.In the conclusion of our study we try to show the status of the tradion of Minstrelsy within the process by telling the emergence and development of this tradition with various quotes of different searchers.
