Abstract (EN)

Hermeneutics has become prominent in the methodology of social sciences in this day and is becoming an important argumentative area of inquiry. This is because hermeneutics, contra positivistic paradigm of science, offers an alternative paradigm of science. For this reason the present work concentrates on Hans-Georg Gadamer?s conception of hermeneutics and tries to reveal his possible contributions to the solution of the methodological problems encountered in sociology. For this reason, the view of Gadamer has been interrogated and it is seen that Gadamer has lots of differences from his antecedents and he also contributed new acquisitions to the tradition of the hermeneutics. Namely, like his formers, Gadamer claimed that scienticism has not only a method, but also he didn?t talk about from the angle of the social scienticism angle of hermeneutics and he has widened its field of usage. Hermeneutics which is confined in the method argument, by not making discrimination between the social science and the natural science has been brought to the state which forms the ground of any experience. By dealing not only with the social sciences but also natural sciences, Gadamer tried to develop an extensive construction for the hermeneutics. And he conceived meaning and interpretation as a reality which show itself in any form of human experience. In consequence, the aim of our thesis is not only to show the Gadamerian hemeneutics as a method, but also we wanted to show that it is dominant in any kind of activitity of human understanding and, in this aspect, without taking fields of human experience out of the limits of scientific work, Gadamerian hermeneutics with its power of interpretation manages to combine both sides. This study try to develop a different perspective related to the usage of the hermeneutics and as long as that is attained and at that time this thesis would be considered to have achieved its main objective.
