Abstract (EN)

In electrical energy systems, ideally, the wave form of current and voltage is required to be sinusoidal and this wave form has to have a single 50 Hz frequency. But because of the loads on the system that has a nonlinear relationship between their voltage and current forms or for some other electrical reasons, beside the main voltage and current, some harmonics occur. Harmonics disturb the sinusoidal form of voltage and current in the power system are calculated with the use of fourier series analyses. Nonlinear loads to disturb the sinusoidal wave form was known for many years. But today, the use of equipment that is sensitive to disturbance has largly increased, therefore the studies about the harmonics become vital. With a simple study, the power factor of an energy system that has no harmonics can be easily tuned to the desired range. Studying a system with harmonics requires additional analyses to calculate the harmonic components, total harmonic distorsion and to optimize the power factor. In this study, a MATLAB program named as POWER FACTOR OPTIMIZATION ANALYSER that calculates the parameters for possible circuit types that include harmonics, is presented. Keywords: Harmonics, reduction of harmonics, power factor correction.
