Abstract (EN)

Dialect studies of Turkey Turkish have been carried out since the second half of the 19th century. These studies, carried out by domestic and foreign researchers, are of great importance with regards to shedding light on the phonetic and morphological features of Turkish by the dialects which contain archaic and different language features together with the features of the standard language, which have a rich vocabulary with many words that are not used in the written language, which are crucial in terms of revealing the richness of the Turkish language, and with regards to recording Turkey Turkish dialects influenced by Standard Turkey Turkish in parallel with the development of media, communication, transportation etc. Language studies in our country have not yet reached a sufficient level. This study aims to make even a small contribution to the field by examining the dialect of the Cretan refugees who were brought to Turkey by population exchange and were settled in Hatay. In this study, the dialect characteristics of the Cretan refugees living in Hatay are determined. These determinations were put forth by means of compilations from the three villages where the Cretan refugees settled. The study consists of "Introduction", "Conceptual Framework", "Methods", "Results", "Texts", "Conclusion", "References", and "Index and Dictionary" sections. In Introduction, the problem of the research, the purpose of the research, the importance of the research, and the limitations of the research are specified. In Conceptual Framework, conceptual explanations regarding the research and information regarding the field of study are stated. In Method, the method of the research is explained. In Findings, phonetic and morphological features of the dialects of the Cretan refugees in Hatay province are discussed. In Texts, 31 texts compiled from 3 villages where Cretan refugees lived in Hatay province are presented with their respective numbers. In Conclusion, the general characteristics of the dialects of the Cretan refugees in Hatay province are listed. In Index and Dictionary, the grammatical index of the texts, which is the basic data of the study, and a dictionary are created.
