IV ABSTRACT PhD Thesis COMPARED AGE DETERMINATION ON BONE STRUCTURES OF CAPOETA CAPOETA UMBLA (HECKEL, 1843) LIVING IN HAZAR LAKE Rahmi AYDIN Fırat University Graduate Scholl of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Aquatic Basic Sciences 2000, Page: 100 In this study, 348 individuals in population of Capoeta capoeta umbla (Heckel, 1843) living in Hazar Lake have been caught between November 1996 and October 1998. After bone structures offish samples have been removed, cleaned and labelled, the photographes of bone structures with obviously seen annuli have been taken. Compared age determination on 67 different bone structures have been done and the results have been given as N % in tables. The least precision (8,95 %) between vertebra-right coracoid and also the most precision (90,81 %) between right suboperculum-left operculum have been determined on compared bone structures. It has been found that the biggest age differences was 1 1 on compared bone structures. The best annuli have been observed on otholiths.
