Investigation of water quality of Lake Hazar

ABSTRACTMASTER THESISINVESTIGATION OF WATER QUALITY OF LAKE HAZARFatih ÇOBANFırat UniversityGraduate School of Natural and Applied SciencesDepartment of Environmental Engineering2006, Page: 89In this study, between April 2005 and March 2006 during one year, the physical, inorganicchemical, organic and bacteriological characteristics of water samples that were taken from fivedifferent depths in nine sample points in Lake Hazar were investigated. Seasonal differences wereresearched and the effects of wastewaters and other sources to the lake were investigated. Also,the differences of available water level in lake were observed.It was observed that there were some seasonal differences at temperature and dissolvedoxygen parameters depend on depth. Different results were obtained as regional at someparameters. All parameters were examined separately and water quality was determined. Takinginto consideration of Water Pollution Control Regulations, Lake Hazar is in second-third classdepend on physical and inorganic chemical parameters, it is in second class depend on organicparameters and it is in first-second class depend on bacteriological parameters.Obtained results were compared with other studies that were done in old years and somesuggestions were submitted.Keywords: Lake Hazar, water quality, water level
