The universe of the study was 1337 adult patients who underwent hemodialysis at Fırat University Hospital Hemodialysis Unit and Nephrology Clinic. The sample of the study was determined as 298 with the help of the known sample calculation. The study was completed with 301 patients in order to reduce the margin of error. The mean score of Beck hopelessness scale of the patients was 10.38 ± 5.92. A statistically significant difference was found between the mean scores of the patients and their descriptive characteristics (age, education level) (p <0.05). The mean total score of Katz daily life activities scale of the patients was 15.06 ± 3.41. Conclusion: There is a positive relationship between hopelessness and daily life activity.
