Abstract (EN)

This research attempts at analyzing Hermann Neuling's "Bagatelle" in terms of musical and stylistic aspects with a comparison of interpretations of different performers. The limitation of the harmonics in the lower octaves due to the structure of the natural horn was eliminated with the invention of the valved horn, allowing the use of the sounds within the range of harmonics (overtones). With the introduction of valved horns, the change in the instrument has also allowed composers to use the horn within a wider range of sounds, leading to the emergence of the concept of bass horn. This study on Bagatelle, which is characterized with the low-pitched sounds of the horn and which is used as a reference work in many orchestra exams, is intended to be a resource for the horn players who wish to perform this piece.
