Abstract (EN)
Schiff bases are imine compounds that have been used in different industries for a long time. The C=N azometin bond in Schiff bases and asymmetric Schiff bases also have a biologically important place. In this study, instead of using 4,4'-oxydianiline which is used in many studies to synthesize asymmetric Schiff bases, synthesis has been made over the intermediate product. First, 3-thiophenecarboxaldehyde, 2-thiophenecarboxaldehyde and 4-aminophenol were reacted in ethanol and two Schiff bases were synthesized. The OH groups in the structure were reacted with 4-nitroaniline in DMF and with K2CO3 to product ether. Six new asymmetric Schiff bases were synthesized by adding 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde, 3-pyridinecarboxaldehyde and 4-pyridinecarboxaldehyde to the intermediates synthesized. Characterization of the compounds was performed by FTIR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and UV-Vis spectroscopic methods.
