Abstract (EN)
Introduction and Purpose: Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic, recurrent skin disease characterized by inflammatory cell response and cytokine activation. Its pathogenesis is not yet well understood. Most studies have focused on the potential role of interleukins and cytokines. Our aim is to measure the sera IL-32 and IL-36 levels of patients with hidradenitis suppurativa as little studied before, and to compare them with the normal population, to reveal their role in the pathogenesis of the disease, and to contribute to scientific studies. Materials and Methods: 30 patients who applied to Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Skin and Venereal Diseases between August 2020-July 2021, had hidradenitis suppurativa, did not use biological agents before, were aged between 18-65, were not pregnant and breastfeeding, and were also 20 healthy volunteers between the ages of 18-65, who were not pregnant and breastfeeding, and who applied to the outpatient clinic of the Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Skin and Venereal Diseases between August 2020 and July 2021, were included. After separating sera from 10 cc of blood to be taken from patients and volunteers, IL-32 and IL-36 levels were measured and compared with the ELISA method. Results: While the mean of IL-36 in the patient group (group I) was found to be 150,42 ± 46.68, it was determined as 81.38 ± 57.85 in the control group (group II). A statistically significant difference was found on the IL-36 levels (p<0.001). On the other hand, IL-32 levels were found to be 11.37 ± 9.38 in group I, and 5,8 ± 2,91 in group II. There is also a statistically significant difference between two groups in terms of IL-32 levels (p<0.004). Conclusion: As a result, serum IL-32 and IL-36 levels measured by ELISA method were found to be higher in hidradentis suppurativa patients than in the normal population. Keywords: Hidradenitis Supurativa, IL-32, IL-36
