Abstract (EN)

Strong energy policies are needed to meet the ever-increasing energy demand. The world has been using fossil fuels for years to meet its energy needs. However, reasons such as the harmfulness of these resources and the prediction that they will be exhausted in the near future have made renewable energy and efficiency studies a priority for countries. Hydroelectric power plants are among the renewable energy sources and the efficiency of these power plants is also high. However, wear and tear over time causes performance and efficiency decreases in power plants. The most important factor affecting the power plant efficiency is the turbine. With the field performance tests to be carried out at the power plants, the current status of the equipment can be seen in a healthy way, with the efficiency monitoring system, unit, generator, turbine and power plant efficiencies can be monitored instantly. Thus, necessary interventions to the equipment can be made in a timely manner, and performance degradation can be prevented. In this study, in order to determine the Effect of Turbine on Energy Efficiency in Hydroelectric Power Plants, an efficiency monitoring system was installed at Alpaslan-1 HEPP, and turbine field performance tests were carried out using the dye dilution and flow measurement method and the Winter-Kennedy method. In the tests performed, it was determined that there was a 3.5% loss in turbine efficiency.
