Dr. Hasan KAYIKLIKJune, 2007, 109 PagesThis study analyses the theme of ?religious life? in the works of Hilmi Ziya Ülken,an important personnality in the contemporary Turkish thought. The first part givesaccount of Ülken?s general approach in psychology. His analysis on religion, in general,and on religious belief and idea of God, in particular, has been presented in the secondpart. Morality, as an element of religious life, has been discussed in this part, as well.Some moral considerations have been analysed in the light of Ülken?s psychologicalconcepts. Finally, mystic life (sufism) has been considered in terms of psychology ofreligion, with a focus on Ülken?s ?Psychology of Sufism?, an article written underinflunce of psychoanalytic approach.Keywords: Religious life, Morality, Ethics of love, Psychology of mysticism (sufism),Hilmi Ziya Ülken
