Abstract (EN)

Aim: The aim of this research, which is planned as a methodological and descriptive study, is to perform the validity and reliability study of the Factors Affecting Hypertension Treatment Adherence Scale in Turkish society. Methods: The sample of the study consisted of 191 patients who applied to a family health center, were diagnosed with hypertension and met the inclusion criteria. The research data were collected using a 24-question questionnaire questioning the sociodemographic and disease-related characteristics of the patients, the Hill Bone High Blood Pressure Treatment Adherence Scale and the Factors Affecting the Adherence to Hypertension Treatment Scale using face-to-face interview technique. Language and content validity, construct validity, convergent validity, criterion validity and reliability analyzes of the scale were carried out, respectively. Descriptive statistical methods (number, percentage mean, standard deviation), Cronbach's Alpha analysis, composite reliability (CR), mean variance extracted (AVE), factor loadings, confirmatory factor analysis and Explanatory Factor Analysis were used in the analysis of the data. Results: The content validity criterion The Content Validity Ratio value was found to be 1.00. Cronbach alpha values of the sub-dimensions of the scale; values were found to be 0.727 for the Faith and Relationships sub-dimension, 0.754 for the 'Confidence in the Health Care Worker and the Role of the Family' sub-dimension, 0.730 for the 'Busyness and Loneliness' sub-dimension, 0.730 for the Medical Side Effects and indifference sub-dimension, and 0.748 for the total scale. Due to cultural differences, the original form of the scale could not be preserved, and as a result of the analyzes made, changes were made in the scale items. The Turkish version of the scale consists of 4 sub-dimensions and 25 items. Conclusion: The Scale of Factors Affecting Adherence to Hypertension Treatment is a reliable measurement tool that can be used in hypertension patients in the Turkish population.
