Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study was determine the reliability and validity of ?Dutch Eating Behaviour Questionnaire?s for Turkish adolescents.346 female, 162 male adolescent students valutarily participate to thisstudy. In order to identify the items of scale, Principal Component FactorAnalysis with Varimax rotation was applied to data and the items whose factorloading was .40 and over .40 were decided to be included in the scale. Afterthese steps, it has been observed that ? Dutch Eating Behaviour Questionnaire?consisted of 3 subscale and 33 items like original scale. These subscales were?Emotional Eating?, ?Restrained Eating? and ?External Eating?. Factor loadingswere changed between 0.52-0.90. Cronbach alpha values of subscale wereranged from 0.90 (External Eating) to 0.97 (Emotional Eating). Consistencycoefficient of total scale was 0.94.For each of these subscales, item-subtotalend item-general total correlations were found high.To test criterian related validity the correlations between DEBQ and EAT-40 were determined by Pearson Product Moments Correlation and the obtainedcorrelations were 0.30 for females, 0.10 for males and 0.32 for all participiants.Test-retest reliability coefficient base on a four week interval wasdetermine on one hundred participants. The test-retest relaibility coefficiant forEmotional Eating was 0.30, for Restrained Eating was 0.93, for External Eatingwas 0.91. The test-retest reliability coefficiant of total scale was 0.72.The obtained results on reliability of ? Dutch Eating BehaviourQuestionnaire? showed that it was scale was reliable and available. So it can beuseful in Turkey.
