Abstract (EN)
This thesis study; based on age, gender, determination of the race specific vertebral heart scale in Honamlı goats and examining the correlation of this scale with some external morphometric features. In the study, as totally 40 Honamli goats, 20 baby and 20 adult goats with equal numbers of both sexes and earring numbers obtained from Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Veterinary Education, Research and Application Farm were used. The study was carried out with the permission of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University – Animal Experiments Local Ethics Committee dated November 21, 2018, numbered 58-467. The animal material used in the study was passed through general health screening before the study. After the health screening, external morphometric measurements related to the body were carried out. After obtaining latero-lateral radiography of the goats, the vertebral heart scale was determined. In order to ensure the reliability of the obtained environmental morphometric measurements, the measurements obtained by the same person were repeated and their average values were recorded. The margin of error was minimized by using the VHS measurement software to obtain the VHS value. When the VHS data obtained is evaluated; It was observed that the baby male, baby female, adult male and adult females were 8.44, 8.41, 8.19 and 8.43 respectively. It was found that VHS value was not statistically dependent on parameters such as age and gender. In the evaluation of correlation with the VHS value of external morphometric measurements; adult female goats correlated with cidago height and adult goats correlated with ear length positive (p<0.05). As a result; in the Honamli goats, which are one of the domestic goat breeds of our country, the radiographic images of the heart were obtained and normative values regarding the vertebral heart scale were tried to be determined by considering the age and gender difference.
