Gürpınar is one of the writers known for his productivity in Turkish literature. The author, who developed an independent literary style during the time he was writing, deals with social issues in an observational and humorous way. The author, who uses literature as a school to show the flawed aspects of society and educate the society, approaches the Ahmet Mithat Efendi school in this respect. Gürpınar, known for his novels and stories, is also a writer who has written in the field of theater. Gürpınar not only writes plays, but also produces opinion pieces in which he explains his views on various components of theatre. This gives him the identity of both a theater writer and a theater critic. In addition to being a writer and critic, the author, who is also a member of the literary committee, fills the theater part of his oeuvre productively. There is no academic study on the identities of Gürpınar, who continues to deal with social issues in his theaters, in the field of theater. While one of the author's five theater works remains on the newspaper pages where it is serialized, his plays and theater criticism are not the subject of any study. In this thesis, the author's theatrical direction will be discussed based on his plays and theater criticism.
