Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to evaluate the information reliability (DISCERN), overall content quality (GQS), and ethical transparency (JAMA) of YouTube™ videos on cluttering (hızlı bozuk konuşma) in both Turkish and English. A total of 136 videos (27 Turkish, 109 English) were analyzed and independently rated by three evaluators. Statistical analyses were conducted using the Mann–Whitney U and Spearman's rho tests. Results revealed that English videos scored significantly higher than Turkish ones across all measures (p<0.05). The mean DISCERN, GQS, and JAMA scores for English videos were 3.15, 3.81, and 2.61, respectively, compared to 0.89, 1.65, and 1.42 for Turkish videos. English-language content was longer, more comprehensive, and demonstrated greater consistency in quality. Strong positive correlations were observed among the three scales (ρ = 0.815–0.844), indicating that higher information reliability was associated with better overall quality and ethical disclosure. Overall, Turkish videos were often informal, lacked scientific grounding, and showed limited professional contribution. These findings highlight that language is a key determinant of digital content quality, emphasizing the need for more structured, evidence-based, and ethically transparent video production in Turkish speech-language pathology resources.
