Abstract (EN)
This study is a structural analysis of a solo percussion piece by the 20th century composer Iannis Xenakis entitled Rebonds, which also includes suggestions on practicing methods. Comprising of three main sections, the study starts with a general discussion on Xenakis' life and his prominent compositions. The second section presents information on the development of solo percussion music and contemporary percussion music, with examples from several important compositions. The third section includes a detailed analysis of Xenakis' solo multi-percussion piece entitled Rebonds, and some suggestions on how to practice it.
