Abstract (EN)
This study examines the study of logical reasoning according to Ibn Rushd, one of the most significant philosophers in Arab and Islamic history, as well as a prominent figure in the Western world. It analyzes his logical perspective and its impact on philosophical and scientific thought in both Islamic and Western traditions. The research is divided into main sections, including an introduction that outlines the importance of studying logical reasoning in Ibn Rushd's work. This study holds considerable significance within the context of philosophical and scientific thought, opening new avenues for understanding the rich intellectual heritage produced by Islamic civilization. It also highlights the importance of Ibn Rushd's role as a bridge between Eastern and Western cultures. The objectives of the research include understanding the fundamental principles of logical reasoning as presented in Aristotelian logic, emphasizing Ibn Rushd's role in developing this theory, and assessing its influence on Islamic civilization and subsequent eras. The study focuses on key aspects, including an overview of Ibn Rushd's life, showcasing his status as a prominent philosopher and logician in the Islamic heritage. It presents his most important philosophical works and the books in which he commented on Aristotle's texts, particularly focusing on the impact of the "Organon" on Ibn Rushd's understanding of logic. The research discusses the concept of logical reasoning in Ibn Rushd's work, defining it and mentioning its types, as well as the sources he relied upon in his study of reasoning, including Aristotle and AlFarabi. It highlights the characteristics and significance of reasoning, clarifying how Aristotelian thought reflects on Ibn Rushd's theory of reasoning. XIV Subsequently, I analyzed and evaluated the theory of logical reasoning through Ibn Rushd's methodological approach, comparing it to the theories of Aristotle and Al-Farabi in terms of methodology, objectives, components, and applications, citing specific examples. The discussion also addresses the strengths and weaknesses of this theory and its alignment with the logical principles of Aristotelian logic. Finally, the research discusses the impact of Ibn Rushd's theory of logical reasoning on philosophical and scientific thought in both the Islamic and Western worlds, emphasizing his role in transmitting the Islamic philosophical heritage to the West and its profound influence on European thought during the medieval and modern periods.
