Abstract (EN)

This research, The Interpretation of Textual Proof on Resurrection between Avicenna and Imam Ghazali, consists of an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion. Text verification, analysis and inferential methods were used in the development of the arguments in this research. In addition, the research put forward the effects of the discourse on the political, social and cultural life of the period in which they lived, and the intellectual and scientific traditions with which they based their arguments. The methods of understanding the religious texts of Ibn Sînâ, who represents the philosophical tradition, and Imam Ghazali, who represents the religious tradition, have been discussed and the motives for the different views on the nature of the resurrection have been evaluated. The result of the research juxtaposed the understanding of the religious texts of Avicenna and Imam Ghazali. In this way, the basis of the contradictory views of Avicenna and Imam Ghazali in the interpretation of the verses on the subject of resurrection, although they took the same religious texts as their basis, were discussed. As a result, it has been determined that Ibn Sînâ's understanding of resurrection originates from thoughts outside the Islamic scientific tradition and is not consistent with the Aql (dialectical reasoning) and Naql (textual revelation) criteria. It has been concluded that Imam Ghazali is more consistent with the criteria because he makes mental justifications by addressing the issue of resurrection based on the references originating from revelation. In addition, the necessity of establishing the certitude of resurrection, which is a religious and unseen issue, by dealing with the references originating from revelation has been put forward. Keywords: Religion, Thought, Reason, Revelation, Method, Hereafter, Resurrection.
