Detection of Ibrahim Örs' activities in the work of Lake Childrenand the evaluation in terms of Turkish teaching

One of the aims of teaching Turkish is to teach basic grammar rules. Comprehending grammar rules greatly contributes to students' correct speaking, reading and writing skills. Therefore, since gerunds are also an important subject in grammar, its importance in this regard is obvious. In general, gerunds are included in the group of subjects that students have difficulty in understanding and cannot adopt sufficiently among grammar subjects. It is an important issue that grammar rules are taught by intuiting them without memorizing them. Based on this, it was thought that it would be a correct approach to teach grammar, especially gerunds, through literary texts. In the light of this thought, the aim of this study is to make use of the positive feelings that a work loved by children has created on them, to ensure that a subject that is approached with prejudice and is difficult to learn more easily and permanently through sample verb-like texts and sentences created from that favorite work. In the study, document analysis technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. Document analysis is a technique made by collecting and examining written and visual material. In addition, the data obtained from the research were analyzed using descriptive analysis, one of the qualitative data analyses. This study includes the analysis of the verb groups in İbrahim Örs's work named Göl Çocukları. It is thought that working on this work will contribute to the field, since there is no verb-like study about the aforementioned work. In the study, first of all, the opinions of the researchers regarding each verb group were stated; later, gerunds in the work were scanned and classified as noun-verbs, adjectives-verbs, adverbs-verbs; In the next phase, the verb groups were found one by one. Then, in the conclusion part of the study, the distribution of the verb groups that are the basis of the study is given and the importance of the study is mentioned by evaluating the study in terms of Turkish teaching. Finally, in the suggestions section, the necessity of performing the verbal teaching by making use of literary works has been emphasized.
