Assesment of way finding and evacution systems in interior design and a proposel analysis

Indoor way finding and evacuation systems have very comprehensive content that are available within various disciplines and study areas. In the study, design factors that have an impact on indoor way finding were studied thoroughly with all aspects and an analysis were made. The study was limited with physical and perceptual factors that have an impact on way finding and the information systems that are applied over the physical components of the indoors that these systems constitute. The action of way finding was evaluated with considerations in terms of evacuation systems. The study limits of the thesis are based on indoor readings affecting the way finding on the evacuation routes and the spatial information that are obtained by the users through the routes. The "Table of Analysis on Interaction of Orientation and Evacuation Systems" generated by establishing the interactions of the spatial data obtained with each other and the "Table of Analysis on Orientation and Evacuation Systems" generated within the system constitute the unique value of the study.In conclusions and evaluation section, it was evaluated by means of applying on a hospital building due to the fact that it constitutes an unfamiliar building structure in terms of possessing a complicated planning and a multi-use structure.
