Abstract (EN)

In this study, the performance of mechanical behaviour and reinforcement method of strengthening masonry wall (D2) with internally and externally steel reinforced shotcrete has been examined in an experimental way. This research has been planned as the continuance of studies that examined mechanical behaviors of unreinforced model wall (D0) by Kanıt (2006) and examined mechanical behaviors of the front face strengthening model wall (D1) with steel reinforced shotcrete by Kalkan (2008). The wall (D2) which has been made with the same features and been reinforced on both faces by steel reinforced shotcrete has been tested in equal conditions; its mechanical behaviours have been examined and the performance of the method has been researched after being compared with D0 and D1 experiment results. At the end of the experiment; it has been proved that of the wall (D2), however, first crack load; -100 kN, break load; -275 kN, ductility; 6,15 mm, stiffness of the first cracking; 15,38 kN/mm, fracture stiffness; 6,87 kN/mm and energy consumption; 9000 kNmm. In this extent, for the performance of the wall (D2), the experimental results of D1 and D2 has been compared, and respectively observed that the resistance was increased 4,58 and 1,47 times, the flexibility increased 2,79 and 1,05 times, and reached 6,15, the capacity to consume energy is increased 28,12 and 2,01 times and rigidity decreased 0.44 times. In addition, the wall (D2) is vii resisted to seismic earthquake force with ground acceleration for 1,06 g and seismic force performance is increased approximate 4,56 and 1,46 times on the wall (D2).
