A research on the job satisfaction of administrative personnel : Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Medicine

This research has been done to find out the differences in the job satisfaction levels of administrative personnel of DEU Medical School. A Job Satisfaction Questionnaire was designed for use at DEU Medical School and was distributed to 135 personnel. 134 questionnaires returned and were found suitable for the analyses.SPSS 13 for Windows Package Programme was used for the analyses. The influence of sex, age, education, marital status, monthly salary, working year, and status on job satisfaction were tested. The questionnaire consisted of 32 questions and two parts. The first part, which was about job satisfaction, was made up of 24 questions. 22 questions consisted of the independent variables and the two were about the dependent variables. The second part of the questionnaire contained 7 demographic questions. There is one openended questionAs the results of the research, the career planning function of the personnel of DEU Medical School must be systematized, the conditions must be organized and the personel must be supported. Also the working conditions of the personel must be continuously improved, and their ideas must be asked. The participitation of the workers is very important because of the satisfaction and their peace which in turn directs towards the aims of the institution.Key words: Job Satisfaction, Dimensions of Job Satisfaction, Demographic Characteristics
